I wonder who invented sunglasses. Good invention because it makes sense. Nail polish? Does it make sense and is it useful? Holder for matchboxes because you can't just put them on a shelf? I'm not saying these are unimportant things, but the world isn't exactly going under if we don't have them. We probably won't die of hunger either. We shouldn't joke about that kind of thing. But can you think of something that is basically a waste of time and energy?
